Drop in Tile Making/Hand Building. Feb 6th, 6:30-9:00pm
This is a one-time class running concurrently with our four part tile making/hand building course. This will give you a chance to come by the studio and check out our set up, and dig into some clay. If you’d like to come back one of the following Thursday nights, just sign up for the session on the website and come by again. We will have limited Sunday sessions for you to swing by and pick up your work, or glaze what you were working on, or if you only want to come by once, we can glaze it for you. We think of this class as a lower commitment option for people who just want to try us out and make sure they like coming here before investing in a more in-depth tile making/hand building course. Clay tools and clay is included. In this one-time class, we will show you some of the basics of hand-building from slab clay. We will shape flat slabs, add cutout pieces, imprint ornate textures, and scribe in designs and textures. You can make a custom coaster set, a serving tray, an art tile to hang on the wall, or even your own accent piece for a tile installation. We will also have a selection of glaze-it-yourself mugs, and other objects that you can purchase for a minimal fee if you’d like to just create a quick personal object.
